Norwegian bridal crown/wedding crown, Bergen, workshop Lauritz Hammer (1812-1874),
1895, silver predominantly gold-plated, the crown isrich in symbolism, it is reminiscent
of the crown of the Virgin Mary and symbolizes purityand virginity, the lions stand
for strength, the roosters stand for fertility and the leaves and pendants are said
to protect against evil spirits, it is set with red cut glass stones and consists
of seven links, eachwith itself facing lion with crown, underneatha stone and three
stones at the bottom edge, the end ring is missing, month mark, silversmith's mark
JH and year 95, probably 833 silver, individual parts marked or provided with tremolo
marks; The crown was extensively cleaned and restored by the goldsmith (2026), approx.
616 g total weight, approx. 16 cm, diameter approx. 34 cm, worthy of collection,
