Keichousaurus is a genus of marine reptiles in the family Pachypleuro dinosaurs that became extinct in the Triassic-Jurassic mass extinction at the end of the Triassic. The name comes from Kweichow (now Guizhou Province) in China, where the first fossil was discovered in 1957. They are among the most commonly found sauropterygian fossils and are often found as near-complete skeletons, making them popular with collectors |
